Titans’ Calvin Ridley loves depth of receiving corps

The Tennessee Titans wrapped their first week of training camp with a spirited open practice for the fans to enjoy.

Afterward, veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley met with the media and broke down his illness, his evaluation of Carnell Tate, and a reason why he took a pay cut to return to the Titans. He even offered up his thoughts on the receiving room after the additions of Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson, and it sounds like he is impressed.

“This is one of the deepest rooms I’ve been in. Like three, four, five, six, or seven guys.” Ridley said, “Thing is, we’re really deep. If we do what we’ve got to get on the same page as our quarterback, push.”

Tennessee made some significant changes in their receiver room during the offseason to add some weaponry around Cam Ward. Couple that with some impressive growth from second-year receivers Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor, and the receiving corps looks completely different than it did in 2025.

In fact, even outside media outlets are starting to take notice and view what was a dreadful hole for Ward as a rookie as a potential strength heading into year two. And if Ridley can return to his 2024 form, the unit will be even better.
