Hold on to your hats and glasses — the FIFA menworld-as-manchester-city-fume/">8217;s World Cup is now just one week away, and it promises to be the wildest ride in the history of the event.
Held across three countries (Mexico, Canada and the United States) and four time zones, the event will have a larger logistical footprint than any previous tournament, which undoubtedly contributes to being the 2026/06/02/world-cup-2026-cost-calculator-dollars/">most expensive World Cup ever. It will also have the largest field in tournament history after expanding to a record 48 teams.
We’ll have a lot more coming in the ensuing weeks. There will even be a World Cup-specific quiz from our soccer squad, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, we’ll let you warm up with just a couple of soccer questions included in this week’s quiz. Have fun, and make sure to try out our daily Connections: Sports Edition while you’re at it.
