The NBA Finals has its biggest game of the series tonight with the New York Knicks holding a 2-1 lead over the San Antonio Spurs. As the game approaches, many different studio shows preview and recap the game, and discuss the fallout for days afterward.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James isn’t a fan of these shows and ripped into them on his podcast with Steve Nash.

LeBron James Takes Shot at NBA Studio Shows

It’s safe to say that James isn’t a fan of the studio shows that are handling the coverage of the NBA. He doesn’t even like tuning into them because they spend time talking about things other than the game. It is going to be tough to impress James, though, because of his greatness and dedication to the details of the game.

“I don’t watch a lot of like pre-game shows, post-game shows because just, you know me, you already know how I am about that sh*t. Because they don’t speak about the game enough. There’s not enough knowledge about the game, breaking down the game, you know, what it means as a fan to actually learn about the game or what we’re watching,” said James.

James is one of the brightest minds in basketball history and is part of why he is one of the greatest players to ever touch the hardwood. His main gripe came from the lack of knowledge displayed on the panels for these studio shows. Often they are headed by non-NBA or WNBA players and surrounded by either basketball insiders or former players.

There is no shortage of players that appear on these panels, but they’re not always breaking down of the actual game for James. Often the postgame of major playoff games are handled by Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal, and Charles Barkley. These are some of the greatest to play in the NBA, but seemingly don’t do what James wants them to do.

They’ll have a few more chances to impress James before the end of the season with a minimum of two games left in this NBA season.

The Knicks are aiming to bounce back from their Game 3 loss. It was tough sledding for them in the fourth quarter of Game 3 as outside of Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby, the offense crumbled when it mattered. Karl-Anthony Towns has to find a rhythm in the fourth for this Knicks team.

Meanwhile, the Spurs are looking to play spoiler and ruin the MSG hype for Game 4. A win would be huge and swing home-court back in their favor. Victor Wembanyama showed he was ready for the moment in Game 3 and will have to do it again tonight. It’s going to be a battle in MSG tonight with the state of the NBA Finals ready to take a major turn.
