Aaron Rodgers‘s relationship with his family was strained for several years. However, the quarterback reconnected with his parents and siblings during the offseason.
In an interview with NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt on Saturday, Rodgers credited his wife for helping him make amends with his family. The four-time NFL MVP said the urge to repair his relationship with his family grew after he got married.
“A big part of it was getting married,” Rodgers said. “Having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to open up to the possibility of coming together. It’s been a couple-year process now, the conversations with them. I’ve been very closed off about that part of my life, and I want to keep it that way. But there’s been a narrative going on for too long that I wanted to shut down.”

Rodgers said that he was happy to reunite with his family.
“That part of my life is A really beautiful addition, and I got to give my wife a lot of credit. Not that she was pushing me, because she never was. But just the way she loves and supports me, having her by my side during this process was really special.
“I missed those relationships. And there was reasons that don’t need to be talked about, but I’m thankful that’s come all the way back around.”

Last month, Rodgers shared photos of himself with his parents and brother Luke in Nashville, Tennessee. However, the quarterback’s other brother, Jordan, was missing from the pictures.
According to a report by People in 2024, Rodgers had been estranged from his parents and brothers for close to a decade.
Rodgers reportedly married a woman named Brittani in June 2025. He was seen wearing a wedding band during last year’s Kentucky Derby. However, information about his wife remains scarce, as she stays away from the limelight.
During an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” last June, the four-time NFL MVP said he wishes to keep his private life private.
After the 2025 season, speculation was rife about Aaron Rodgers’ possible retirement. However, the quarterback has returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers for another year.
Rodgers clarified that this would be his final year in the league. While speaking with Kyle Brandt, he further clarified his stance.
“It’s been that way for the last couple Of years,” Rodgers said. “I kind of had shut this door 99%. And then Mike (McCarthy) got hired. He kind of put his foot in the door a little bit.
“I just wanted to start the relationship up again. … I’m real glad to be back.”

Rodgers also denied the possibility of playing another year if he finds success with the Steelers in 2026. Last season, he helped the team make the playoffs as the AFC North winners. However, they lost to the Texans in a wild-card showdown.
