The ebbs and flows of the Cincinnati Reds‘ pitching staff’s health continued with the team’s announcement that reliever Graham Ashcraft was headed for the 60-day injured list.

Ashcraft, who last pitched May 25 against the New York Mets, landed on the 60-day IL with what the team called a ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) sprain of the right forearm, Reds officials announced on Friday, May 29.

In a corresponding move, the Reds called up righty pitcher Yunior Marte from Triple-A Louisville.

The Reds bullpen, which had already been shaky at times in May, must now contend with the loss of one if its premium relief arms. Ashcraft, a converted starting pitcher now in his second year as a reliever, was 1-1 in 2026 with a 3.33 ERA over 27 innings across 26 games.

Reds manager Terry Francona will likely address Ashcraft’s injury during his scheduled pre-game meeting with reporters on Friday, May 29.
