Arsenal and Chelsea had a real ding-dong of a derby to conclude the Premier League weekend, as the London rivals traded punches at the Emirates. Someone’s perfect start had to come to an end, and the champions showed their fight with a comeback win.

It was perhaps fate that Morgan Rogers had the first involvement, opening the scoring for Chelsea inside two minutes, after a transfer tug-of-war between Arsenal and Chelsea for his services in the summer.

The 24-year-old hit Thierry Henry’s corner flag celebration, but it was Arsenal who had the last laugh. Kai Havertz andMartin Odegaard turned the game around; the winner was a gorgeous flowing move that saw Havertz leave Christos Tzolis’ pass for his captain to slam home.

There were chances for both sides, but it’s Arsenal who remain perfect. The champions remain the team to beat.

Martin Odegaard looks back to his brilliant best at Arsenal in an ominous sign for would-be challengers. The Arsenal captain has failed to hit his best standard across the last two seasons, and scored one league goal last season despite the Gunners’ title success.

He’s started the current campaign on fire and was the best player on the pitch as Arsenal overcame Chelsea at the Emirates. Odegaard’s invention and intelligence were on show throughout, while he decided the game with an emphatic finish lashed past Emi Martinez.

Manager of the weekend

David Moyes is not the most popular manager in the Premier League with his club’s fans, but the fallout fromEverton‘s transfer window could lead to the veteran coach being given more slack.

Everton’s short-staffed squad remains unbeaten after snatching a late draw with Manchester United, and Moyes’ substitutions (albeit after an earlier error) helped turn the tide.

Jack Grealish showed why he’s so popular at Hill Dickinson Stadium, while Hayden Hackney produced an impressive cameo too. The last-gasp leveller came from another substitute, as debutant Ainsley Maitland-Niles instantly endeared himself to his new support.

The Cottagers slipped to a third consecutive Premier League defeat after twice losing the lead against Crystal Palace.Fulham have lost their opening three games just twice before in a top-flight campaign and on each occasion have been relegated.

There was a whole host of Fantasy Premier League bosses lumping their triple captain chip on Erling Haaland ahead ofCoventry City‘s visit to the Etihad this weekend.

The Sky Blues had begun their Premier League return with successive defeats, while City headed into the contest with maximum points. While the result went as expected with City maintaining their perfect start, Enzo Maresca’s side were made to work for it.

Coventry should have gone in front when Taiwo Awoniyi siezed a loose pass and ran through on goal, but the Nigerian fired wide. Gianluigi Donnarumma was later forced into a string of saves, keeping out Jack Rudoni’s diving header and Ellis Simms late on.

Erling Haaland’s header ultimately settled the game, and Frank Lampard’s men remain without a point, but this was encouraging.

Alex Scott was invited to train with England ahead of the 2026 World Cup, but the time might be right for a more permanent inclusion. Scott starred as Bournemouth battled to a draw at Newcastle United this weekend, offering Thomas Tuchel a reminder of his quality.

Scott was involved in both Bournemouth goals as the Cherries took a 2-0 lead at St James’ Park, and was bright and busy throughout.
