The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, Episode 354: Striker Gatti salvages a point for Juventus against Milan

On Sunday night, Juventus turned to a last-ditch substitution to try and get a point on the board against AC Milan. That potential solution was Federico Gatti playing in attack, looking to get his head on the ball of a cross in stoppage time.

Worked out.

Up until that point, though, it was looking like another frustrating night for Juventus against their rivals from Lombardy. Both in terms of how each team played, how each team finished the chances they have in front of goal and just the overall feeling in the Allianz Stadium heading into second-half stoppage time.

But there was Gatti, doing the last-minute thing he sometimes does in the opponent’s penalty area.

It resulted in something that looked like it would be a loss and two points snatched away from Milan just like that. On a night when Juventus probably should have gotten more than just a draw, they instead prevented this new-look Milan side from getting all three points themselves.
