Hulu’s hit legal drama returns as a streaming sensation, over four years after its acclaimed series debut. Throughout the years, television has delivered many popular legal TV shows that have taken the genre to new heights. Audiences have always been drawn to lawyer-centered stories or courtroom dramas because of their bingeable episode structure that brings viewers new cases to dive into weekly. Shows like Suits, Better Call Saul, and The Lincoln Lawyer have also been consistent streaming hits, proving why the legal genre remains popular with viewers.
Now, it looks like Disney+ has also found streaming success with an underrated legal drama series from Hulu, which has just returned for its fourth season. Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt, starring Emayatzy Corinealdi, has officially become an instant hit on Disney+’s streaming charts. With parallels to Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer and ABC’s Scandal, the Los Angeles-set show follows the story of a brilliant and fearless criminal defense attorney named Jax Stewart, who uses unorthodox tactics to protect clients. While Jax can flawlessly handle courtroom dilemmas, she has a chaotic personal life, which she struggles to balance with her career.

At the time of writing, Reasonable Doubt climbs to the fourth spot on Disney+’s top 10 TV show chart in the United States, impressively beating popular ABC scripted shows like Abbott Elementary and 9-1-1. It also managed to surpass three other Hulu shows, including Connie Britton’s Phony, Parker Posey’s The Mob, and the documentary Swipe Right on the Devil. The legal drama series is currently placed below VisionQuest, Dancing with the Stars, and The Drop: A Snowfall Saga.
Reasonable Doubt hails from Scandal writer Raamla Mohamed, who serves as the creator and executive producer. The series was loosely based on the high-profile career of celebrity attorney Shawn Holley. Meanwhile, its title was drawn from Jay-Z’s debut album of the same name, with every episode also titled after the iconic rapper’s songs. The cast includes Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo, Angela Grovey, and Morris Chestnut. It also featured appearances from Michael Ealy, Sean Patrick Thomas, Rumer Willis, and Lori Harvey. For its debut season in 2022, the show received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

All three seasons of Reasonable Doubt are now available to stream on Disney+, along with the first six episodes of season 4. New episodes drop every Tuesday until its season finale on November 24, 2026. At the moment, there’s no word yet about its potential fifth season renewal. However, given the show’s current streaming success, it won’t be surprising if the show secures another season.
