The leadership habit Jamie Dimon uses to show confidence

Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, said insecurity ruins CEOs and other leaders.

So instead of acting like you have all the answers, actively aim to create a space where others feel comfortable weighing in and disagreeing.

Dimon said that insecure leaders make their reports uncomfortable about bringing them bad news or challenging their ideas.

Eventually, this causes leaders to create a bubble around themselves and they become disconnected from what’s going on inside their companies.

Encouraging others to share their perspective, on the other hand, signals humility and confidence in a leader.

The next time you meet with your team, end the conversation by asking your peers, “What am I missing?” Then just listen to what they have to say.

Dimon said that he isn’t offended by complaints and that a secure leader values critical feedback.

Dimon actively encourages his employees to speak up.
