The Elder Scrolls: Summerset Officially Confirmed For November 2026

A new The Elder Scrolls release called Summerset has been officially confirmed for November 2026. Right now, gamers are eagerly waiting for more details about the sequel to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. There has been a report about the potential title of The Elder Scrolls 6, as well as when the game will be formally showcased by Bethesda. Despite the promising news, it’s likely we’ll still have to wait a while before we get to actually play the new core entry in the classic action RPG series, but that won’t keep us away from The Elder Scrolls entirely.

According to a new report by Game Rant, The Elder Scrolls: Summerset will be released in November. Summerset is going to be a new expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, a board game that was released a while back. With the expansion, players can visit the home of the High Elves, the Altmer, and engage in new adventures set on the titular Isles. Summerset is a region expansion for the board game, and it will introduce new quests, enemies, classes, skill lines, and items to use during your games.

Arriving in November alongside the Elsweyr expansion for The Elder Scrolls: BotSE, the Summerset expansion introduces the Magical Anomalies mechanic, which will require players to be wary, much like the dragons that rule the skies in the homeland of the Khajiit. This region expansion also introduces the Mage and Assassin classes to the board game, allowing for more focused spellcasters or characters who prowl in the shadows and strike with deadly force.

There are also several new enemies to face in the new expansion. If you’ve ever played the Summerset expansion in The Elder Scrolls Online, you may recognize figures like Nereids, Coral Crabs, and Yaghra that arrive with this new board game content. In addition to all of that, the Summerset expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era also features the Aedric Spear and Assassination Skill Lines, opening up the gameplay possibilities.

Of course, Summerset is but one of many new expansions that are arriving in Betrayal of the Second Era. In addition to the aforementioned Elsweyr expansion, the board game is also getting the Fur and Fang expansion, the Shadows of Oblivion expansion, and the Heroes of Tamriel expansion for The Elder Scrolls: BotSE. Each of these expansions augments the base game significantly. Betrayal of the Second Era is a guided tabletop adventure game rather than a traditional TTRPG, and the expansions let players control different types of characters and embark on different missions.

The Heroes of Tamriel expansion, for instance, is mostly focused on character options, allowing you to pick from different races, classes, and Skill Lines. Fur and Fang is also a gameplay expansion, but it introduces vampirism and lycanthropy mechanics to the board game, allowing you to fully embody vampires and werewolves. Shadows of Oblivion, of course, is focused on the Daedric Princes and what they have to offer. The Elder Scrolls franchise is about to get bigger in November, and Summerset is one of these many new releases.
