LeBron James is the biggest name in free agency, and plenty of teams are looking to sign him. One of those teams is a familiar organization, the Cleveland Cavaliers, his hometown team.

Across two stints with the Cavaliers, James proved he was the greatest player in franchise history. He led the Cavs to their first and only championship so far in their long history. Now, they want him back, and they are willing to open up one more roster spot for Bronny James.

The Cavaliers want a reunion with both LeBron and Bronny James

After eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron has marked the end of his tenure with the Purple and Gold. Now, he is ready for the next chapter of his career, making him a free agent at 41. 

Despite his age, LeBron is still one of the best players in the league, so it is normal for teams to have a bidding war to get his signature. Across the NBA, there are plenty of teams interested in signing him, including the Cavaliers.

It is not a secret that Bronny is connected to his father when it comes to his NBA career so far. He has impressed in some spurts for the Lakers, but it seems he could play a role across many teams in the league with his athleticism and defensive upside.

Since the Cavaliers want to sign LeBron, they are also willing to sign Bronny if the Lakers decide to waive him ahead of the 2026-27 season.

This will be yet another chapter of the father-son duo, but it could also be an opportunity for Bronny to shine. He could stay with the Lakers and carve out a role for himself, but that will depend on general manager Rob Pelinka’s plans for the future.
