‘That bum Neymar’ taunts rivals in heated scenes after Santos win

Neymar was involved in heated post-match scenes after his side Santos qualified for the quarter-final of the Copa do Brasil.

Video footage showed the 34-year-old striker – who retired from international duty with Brazil last month – taunting Remo officials and players after Santos’ 1-0 victory on Tuesday night.

The video shows Neymar shouting towards the Remo delegation just outside the dressing room area and being pulled back by Santos officials.

Neymar then beats his chest, dances by the dressing room door, waves his arms, and repeats the word “eliminated” several times.

Remo’s officials and players responded by pushing down railings between the two groups as Santos security guards tried to restore calm.

The fallout continued later with Remo president Antonio Carlos Teixeira quoted by Brazilian news outlet O Fluxo as saying: “That bum Neymar, who’s idolised by a lot of children, did his antics here and then came to provoke us.

“We’re guilty of idolising a bunch of bums like that guy.”
