Even though his debut with the Texas football team won’t come for a few more weeks, Cam Coleman is already making a positive first impression.
On Saturday, a video of Coleman making a highlight-reel catch at a recent practice went viral on social media. In three hours on the Texas football program’s Instagram and X accounts, that video received 50,000 likes and was shared over 3,500 times.

This 15-second clip featured film of Coleman running across the field, leaping and then using his left hand to snag a wobbly pass that was thrown behind him. After corralling the football, Coleman avoided UT safety Jelani McDonald and ran upfield.
A 6-foot-3, 204-pound receiver who transferred to Texas this offseason, Coleman spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Auburn where he averaged 14 yards over his 93 receptions while scoring 13 times. Coleman is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
This season, Coleman will likely be a favorite target of UT quarterback Arch Manning. Ryan Wingo returns to the Texas receiving corps after leading the Longhorns in receptions (54), receiving yards (834) and touchdowns catches (seven) last year, but Emmett Mosley V is the only other returnee who caught more than 10 footballs in 2025.
