Texas A&M coach Mike Elko rips TexAgs fan community after blowout loss

Saturday wasn’t a good day at the office for the Texas A&M football program.

The Aggies traveled to face the No. 14 Missouri Tigers and played a solid first quarter before things went south. The Aggies led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter but were outscored 27-3 in the final three quarters, losing 27-6.

Saturday’s loss dropped the Aggies’ overall record to 3-3, which is a far cry from their 11-win season last year.

To make matters worse, Aggies head coach Mike Elko called out a prominent Aggies fan community during his post-game presser. He referred to the TexAgs community as “Billy’s cesspool” since the community is run by Billy Liucci.

“There’s a difference to me between the fan base and social media. So there’s one group that I really don’t care much about. Billy’s cesspool (at TexAgs) can go be Billy’s cesspool,” Elko said, via On3’s Carter Karels. “Our fan base, stay with us, be behind us. We’re going to build something that we told you we were going to build. So we’re in a really bad spot right now, but we’ll work our way out of it.”

The vibes couldn’t be worse for the Aggies right now, since Elko is going after the top online fan community. It’s not a good look.

The Aggies will look to stop the bleeding when they face The Citadel Bulldogs next Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
