Texans sign WR Montrell Washington

The Texans signed wide receiver Montrell Washington, the team announced Wednesday.

In a corresponding move, the Texans waived defensive lineman Junior Tafuna. He signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and spent time on the team’s practice squad as a rookie. Tafuna signed a futures contract in January.

Houston needed wide receiver help after placing DJ Turner on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.

Washington appeared in 15 regular-season games with the Broncos in 2022, catching four of nine targets for 2 yards while rushing five times for 30 yards.
