Teenage star Luka Vuskovic open to leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past ten months, impressing in the Bundesliga during a standout season-long loan at Hamburger SV. Vuskovic arrived in Germany from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to continue his development and anchored a defence that helped HSV secure top-flight safety. His impressive defensive fundamentals were complemented by a notable attacking threat, as the teenager scored six goals from central defence and earned a well-deserved spot in the Bundesliga Team of the Season. Yet his impressive individual success has created a dilemma as Vuskovic is reportedly reluctant to return to North London, where Spurs narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship after a turbulent season.

Vuskovic recently acknowledged his uncertainty, telling German media he is torn about his next career move. Adding to the situation is his strong desire to stay in Germany and eventually play alongside his brother, Mario Vuskovic, once his footballing ban concludes later this autumn. The main positive for Tottenham is Vuskovic’s soaring market value. Signed from Hajduk Split in 2023 for just under €14 million, the ‘huge talent’ is now valued at around €60 million. With a contract running until June 2030, Spurs retain significant leverage.

Any decision about Vuskovic’s future is expected after the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. The teenager is part of Croatia’s defensive unit as they prepare to face England, Ghana, and Panama in Group L.
