TE Terrance Ferguson likely to miss Week 4, Colby Parkinson could too

The Los Angeles Rams may be down two starting tight ends in Week 4.

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that tight end Terrance Ferguson likely won’t play against the Philadelphia Eagles next week after he sustained a medial ankle sprain in the Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos. He missed a few snaps earlier in the game before coming back in and then leaving again.

Fellow tight end Colby Parkinson sustained an AC sprain in his shoulder, but his status is unclear at the moment.

Sean McVay said TE Colby Parkinson suffered an AC sprain and TE Terrance Ferguson a medial ankle sprain.

Ferguson likely out for this week’s game at Eagles, Parkinson’s status still TBD.

Losing Ferguson is big, but not having Parkinson too would deplete the Rams’ deep tight end room. Ferguson has seven receptions for 63 yards and one touchdown this year. He didn’t have a catch in Week 3. Parkinson, after his breakout 2025 campaign, only has three receptions for 21 scoreless yards this year.

Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen are the next men up in the Rams’ tight end rotation. Higbee had his best game of the year in Week 3 with eight receptions on 11 targets for 62 yards and one touchdown. He had two catches for 12 yards in Week 1. Allen, known more as a blocking tight end, has four receptions for 39 yards on the year.

These injuries could mean more opportunities for 2026 second-round pick Max Klare. The rookie out of Ohio State has been active in back-to-back games after not being active for Week 1, but only logged six special teams snaps and zero offensive snaps this year so far. He could see more action in the Rams’ multi-tight end personnel plays if Parkinson misses time, too.
