Taylor Sheridan’s hit cowboy series will return for its seventh season in just one week.
It’s been an extremely busy year for popular TV series creator and executive producer Taylor Sheridan. In March 2026, Sheridan premiered his new western show The Madison, as well as the Yellowstone spinoff series he produces, Marshals. Another Yellowstone spinoff show on which he serves as an executive producer, Dutton Ranch, debuted its first season in May. Meanwhile, Sheridan released new seasons of his hit shows Lioness and Tulsa King in August and October, respectively. Now, Sheridan is preparing to close out the year with another long-running series’ return.
As reported by Variety, The Last Cowboy sports documentary series will return for its season 7 premiere on Friday, November 6, 2026 on CMT. The Taylor Sheridan-produced TV show will premiere with six episodes at 8 p.m. ET, and will be available on CMT VOD the following day on November 7.
Originally debuting in 2019, The Last Cowboy focuses on the world of highly skilled Western equine sports such as reining, cutting, and cow horse. The show chronicles the training of the top riders preparing to vie in Taylor Sheridan’s Run for a Million competition, which awards $1 million to the winning rider and horse judged to show the highest athletic ability. The August 2026 special event The Run for a Million competition aired live on CBS.
The confirmed riders featured in Taylor Sheridan’s The Last Cowboy season 7 include Andrea Fappani, who is the first reiner to pass $10 million in lifetime earnings in the sport, former Run for a Million champion Kole Price, returning Run for a Million competitor Gabriel Borges, three-time competitor Gina Schumacher, World’s Greatest Horseman winner and cow horse rider Jordan Williams, 2024’s reserve champion finisher and cow horse rider Erin Taormino, and more.
In addition to Sheridan, the executive producers on The Last Cowboy include David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Glenda Hersh, Steven Weinstock, Julie “Bob” Lombardi, and Apryl Richards. The CMT show’s production is overseen by Paramount TV executive Todd Baynes.
Following The Last Cowboy season 7’s premiere on November 6, Taylor Sheridan’s final confirmed release of 2026 will be the premiere of his Tulsa King spinoff series Frisco King. The Samuel L. Jackson-starring crime show is set to debut on December 18 on Paramount+, continuing through the end of January. In 2027, Sheridan already has release dates set for Mayor of Kingstown season 5 on January 17 and his upcoming action movie F.A.S.T. on May 14.
The first six seasons of The Last Cowboy are currently available to stream on Paramount+.
