Taraba council chairman embarks on bush tour, reaffirms zero tolerance for insecurity

The Chairman of Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba state, Emmanuel Ubandoma, has reaffirmed his administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward insecurity, assuring residents that the protection of lives and property remains his top priority.

Ubandoma gave the assurance on Monday when he embarked on a bush-to-bush supervision and surveillance tour of the local government area alongside security operatives.

The exercise, according to the chairman, was aimed at assessing the prevailing security situation, identifying vulnerable locations and strengthening security measures across the council.

Acting in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the council, Ubandoma was observed to have personally visited key entry points, remote locations and other areas considered vulnerable to criminal activities.

The chairman also used the opportunity to interact with security personnel deployed to various locations, assess their operational challenges and boost their morale in the discharge of their duties.

“The security tour was part of his administration’s efforts to ensure that residents could go about their legitimate activities without fear,” Ubandoma said.

Ubandoma stressed that peace and security were essential prerequisites for economic growth and sustainable development, noting that no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere of insecurity.

“Peace and security are the foundation of development. I will not sit in the office while my people are not safe. We are going everywhere to ensure Ibi is safe,” he said..

The council chairman assured residents that his administration would continue to work closely with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to prevent threats and respond promptly to emerging security challenges.

He further urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives by providing useful information that could help prevent crime and protect communities.

Ubandoma maintained that his administration would not relent in its efforts to secure communities across Ibi, stressing that the security of residents remained a collective responsibility requiring the cooperation of government, security agencies and the public.
