Swansea City dealt major injury blow
Swansea City will be without Ronald for up to two months after the winger suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend’s defeat to West Ham United.
The Brazilian picked up the problem after being deployed at right-back against the Hammers and will now be sidelined for between six and eight weeks.
“Ahead of this game the only news is Ronald felt his hamstring after the West Ham game,” head coach Vitor Matos said.
“We assessed him and he’s out for about six to eight weeks.
“That is the news at the moment. It’s not the most pleasant news but we will have to use the squad again.”
There was more positive news elsewhere, with Filip Lissah available again after serving a one-match suspension and Stephen Eustaquio having returned from injury as a substitute against West Ham.
Josh Key has also stepped up his recovery from a hamstring problem by returning to parts of team training, although Saturday’s trip to Queens Park Rangers will come too soon.
“Josh did the first part of the session with us, so he’s on the right side of the rehab but he still won’t be involved this weekend,” Matos added.
“Apart from that everyone is all good.”
