Super Falcons beat Tanzania in final WAFCON warm-up

Esther Okoronkwo scored the winning goal as the Super Falcons defeated Tanzania 2-1 in a friendly encounter in Casablanca on Friday night.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade gave the African champions the lead in the 14th minute, with Rinsola Babajide providing the assist.

The Super Falcons failed to double their advantage despite creating more chances before the interval.

Head coach Justine Madugu made four changes after the break, with the quartet of Folashade Ijamilusi, Uchenna Kanu, Michelle Alozie, and Joy Omewa replacing Glory Ogbonna, Toni Payne, Rinsola Babajide, and Asisat Oshoala.

Despite the Super Falcons’ dominance, Tanzania equalised 11 minutes from time.

Okoronkwo, however, restored Nigeria’s lead one minute from time.
