Stefon Diggs again comments on potentially playing for Commanders

The Washington Commanders‘ wide receiver room has lots of bodies, but also houses some stiff competition for a chance to be on the field. Terry McLaurin is the unequivocal WR1, and no new signing is going to change that.

However, there are still several free agents out there (and, maybe, Brandon Aiyuk). Having competition is always a good thing, but so far, none of them have shown that they can take some of the pressure off McLaurin. “Ah, [expletive], I don’t know, man. I’m open to everything. We’ll see. Any more questions?” Diggs is clearly trying to get in a vehicle, but when asked if he’s open to all of it, he confirmed that he is.

When he initially signed with the Patriots, it was on a three-year deal, but the Patriots decided to terminate his contract when the 2026 league year opened on March 11. Since hitting the free agency market, there hasn’t been a lot of chatter about the veteran wide receiver, but it’s been suggested that the commanders/363" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Commanders could pick him up.

The Commanders still have plenty of cap space to work with, so another signing is possible before the start of the season. It sounds like Diggs, a Maryland native, would be open to staying on the East Coast if the Commanders make him the right offer.
