EA released Madden 27 this past week, and we at Steelers Wire, similar to last year, decided to simulate the results of the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ 2026 season.
In what can only be described as a roller coaster of a season, here’s a look at how the 2026 Steelers fared in Madden 27’s franchise mode simulation, featuring game-by-game results, commentary, and even a playoff run.

Yikes. Madden 27 predicts the Steelers will be 3-5 heading into the bye week. Considering how much harder Pittsburgh’s schedule gets towards the latter half of the season, this is honestly a worst-case scenario.

- Record: 3-7
- Result: 21-10, win

Things went from bad to worse during the first half of the season for the Steelers, especially after dropping to 3-7 following a Week 11 loss to the Eagles. But Pittsburgh bounced back in a huge way, going on a 6-1 run to close out the 2026 season, earning themselves the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.
The Steelers finished the regular season as the 25th-ranked offense and sixth-ranked defense in terms of yardage. Their defense, however, was the third-best unit in terms of points surrendered, giving up just 20.5 points per game.
Another interesting element of Madden 27’s predicted 2026 season was that the Steelers had two 1,000-yard wide receivers: Michael Pittman Jr. (1,208 yards) and DK Metcalf (1,086 yards).
Here’s a look at the AFC North standings and how the playoffs played out.
- Baltimore Ravens: 12-5, No. 1 seed
- Cincinnati Bengals: 10-7, No. 5 seed
- Cleveland Browns: 9-8, No. 6 seed
- Pittsburgh Steelers: 9-8 No. 7 seed
You can’t make this playoff seeding up. In the Madden 26 schedule prediction, the Steelers also faced off against the Chargers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Steelers were handed another first-round exit, but let’s hope this year’s prediction is a little different.
- Results: 21-7, win
- Results: 35-23, win
- Results: 24-17, win
- Results: 38-14, win
The Mike McCarthy-led Steelers did the unthinkable in Madden 27’s simulation of the 2026 season and defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl LXI, bringing a seventh Lombardi back to the Steel City.
From a dreadful start to Super Bowl champions, the Steelers experienced a storybook ending, with Aaron Rodgers able to close out his NFL career on a high note. Here’s to hoping Pittsburgh can replicate the success of Madden 27’s franchise simulation.
