The Pittsburgh Steelers have revealed the exciting details surrounding game themes and key events for their 2026 NFL season — here’s what fans need to know.
Kicking things off against the Green Bay Packers in the first week of preseason on August 13, the special theme of the contest will be the Steelers Play Football game. One week later, on August 21, the Steelers will host the New York Jets at Acrisure, and that theme will be Steelers Family Day.
Per Teresa Varley of Steelers.com, fans are “encouraged to bring the entire family to enjoy football and fun” on Family Day, which includes activities and food trucks at Acrisure.
Additionally, the Steelers have a few more exciting events and game themes building up to and during the regular season, such as the Run Walk event during Labor Day weekend and the Kickoff and Rib Festival from August 28 to September 1. The Steelers will also welcome the 2026 Hall of Honor Class against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3 on September 27 and will host the Crucial Catch game in Week 5 on October 11 against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Steelers will also celebrate their franchise history during Alumni Weekend when the Houston Texans come to Pittsburgh on December 6, which includes the Alumni Dinner on Saturday, December 5.
Varley also announced that the Steelers will take part in the NFL’s “Inspire Change” event when they face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15 on December 20 and will also host a “Thank You Fans” game in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.
