The Pittsburgh Steelers received an encouraging injury update ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

To start off their Week 6 practice report, the Steelers saw cornerback Jamel Dean, who missed Week 5 with an ankle injury, return to practice on Wednesday.

He sat out of every practice session in preparation for the Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts but seemed confident and eager to play against his former Buccaneers teammates in Week 6 when speaking to reporters on Thursday.

With Dean sidelined, the Steelers have had to lean heavily on the cornerback tandem of Asante Samuel Jr. and rookie third-rounder Daylen Everette, who has shown promise early in the 2026 season.

If Dean can return in Week 6, expect the Steelers to give him the starting nod opposite Samuel, who’s coming off an outstanding performance against the Colts.
