Fantasy football team managers ought to consider starting the Seattle Seahawks’ defense and special teams unit in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos, as Seattle’s ability to pressure quarterbacks and create turnovers gives the team appealing fantasy potential.
The Seahawks have allowed 105 points to opponents through the first five games of the season, at an average of 21 points per contest. Opponents have recorded 754 passing yards and eight passing touchdowns against Seattle, along with 502 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The defense has also totaled seven interceptions and 14 sacks, providing multiple avenues for fantasy production despite allowing some offensive success.
Jason Myers is also coming off of a season-high performance in Week 5, where he completed all five of his field goal attempts and both of his extra point attempts, and his play may carry over into Week 6, especially against a Broncos team with an elite defense that may force the Seahawks to settle for field goals.
Denver’s offensive inconsistencies strengthen the case for team managers to start Seattle’s D/ST. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has thrown for 942 yards and six touchdowns while recording three interceptions through five games. Meanwhile, the Broncos’ rushing attack has recorded 431 yards on 119 carries with three rushing touchdowns. Those numbers suggest that Seattle may be well-equipped to slow down Denver’s attack on the ground and in the air, potentially putting additional pressure on Nix to deliver through the air. The defense figures to deliver a strong fantasy performance in Week 6.
