Steam Drops 8/10 Open-World RPG That Mixes Skyrim & Valheim
Steam has just dropped a new open-world RPG that will feel like a mix between The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Valheim on its storefront, and it has already gathered an 8/10 Positive review status on the platform. RPGs are some of the most popular genres on the gaming platform, and among several types of subgenres and styles, open-world RPGs are some of the favorites. These huge explorable worlds can often keep players immersed for dozens, if not hundreds, of hours, especially when tied to an enticing gameplay loop that keeps them coming back.
Now, a new option within that category has just been made available. Earlier this month, a new open-world RPG was officially released in Version 1.0 on Steam, and it’s garnered an 8/10 Positive review status on the platform. New RPGs on Steam aren’t exactly surprising, as these releases happen all the time, but titles that retain a good score even after dozens of thousands of players have checked them out and reviewed them is something worth noting. The title in question was available in Early Access, but now it’s finally complete on Steam.
The new open-world RPG on Steam is called Enshrouded. Prior to its official Version 1.0 release on October 15, the action RPG developed and published by Keen Games GmbH was in Early Access, allowing the developers to create and tweak the game in real time, a lot of which was based on player feedback. If you haven’t heard of it before, Enshrouded is a survival-focused action RPG set in an open-world map. Mixing high fantasy elements, like those seen in Skyrim, with survival mechanics akin to Valheim, players get a unique experience.
There are multiple ways of playing your own custom hero in this game, via a huge skill tree that unfolds as you progress. If you’re not satisfied, there’s even the option to respec your character in Enshrouded, allowing you to move from a battlemage to a ranger, for example. This RPG can be played alone or in online co-op, meaning you and your friends can form the ultimate party. As you’d expect from a survival game, you’ll need to scavenge for materials and hunt for your survival – and, hopefully, even help build a settlement of survivors.

The world of Enshrouded, as much as it is plagued by the Shroud, is huge and gorgeous, and there’s a lot to see and explore. This also allows for some creative base-building in the place you prefer. There are different ways of leveling up fast in Enshrouded, depending on your preferred playstyle. This type of freedom and scale are some of the many elements that please the players. At the time of writing, Enshrouded has over 50 thousand reviews on Steam, 87% of which are Positive.
A Very Positive review status is pretty hard to get and even harder to maintain as thousands of reviews change the average score. The fact that it’s still at 87% shows just how much love Enshrouded has been receiving as it’s been growing over the years alongside its community. If you’re looking for something new to play within the RPG genre, you may want to check out Enshrouded on Steam, especially considering that the game is now complete.
