Stamp Edges Out Flores In Fiery Main Event Muay Thai War At ONE Fight Night 47

It looks like former three-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex may have gotten her swagger back.

The Thai megastar had been concerned about re-injuring her meniscus and as a result, appeared hesitant to engage with her opponents in her last two matchups. But the 28-year-old seemingly found her confidence during the main event of ONE Fight Night 47 in U.S. primetime this past Friday, September 4.

Stamp flashed her smile throughout the three-round atomweight Muay Thai clash and fearlessly traded with two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Selina “Teep Queen” Flores, ultimately leaving Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium with a split decision in a back-and-forth battle that showcased both women’s pedigree.

Stamp looked every bit like her fiery old self from the opening bell. She launched herself into body kick attacks and punches, while Flores struggled to find her trademark teeps in the opening frame. The Fairtex product continued the pressure inside the clinch, landing knees throughout the frame.

The second stanza saw the Thai’s right kick and straight right punch on full display, as she countered Flores’ low kicks. However, the American grew more offensive as the round wore on, connecting with a push kick and a right punch that earned a nod of respect from Stamp herself.

But it was the third and final round that delivered the fireworks fans had been waiting for. Stamp evaded and countered with precision, driving her shin into Flores’ body.

Busted but far from broken, the “Teep Queen” continued firing from within the pocket, unloading a spinning back elbow that missed its mark. Stamp answered with one of her own that landed clean, and then she followed it up with a cartwheel kick that drew smiles from both fighters and a roar from the crowd.

When the scorecards were tallied, the judges were split. But it was Stamp who ultimately emerged victorious, putting herself on a two-bout winning streak and improving her striking record to 66-18.

The Thai megastar previously mentioned that she would like to return to MMA for her next battle, but whether she goes back to the all-encompassing sport next or continues in Muay Thai remains to be seen. However, one thing is for certain: her confidence is definitely growing.
