St Helens assistant Briers leaves

St Helens assistant coach Lee Briers has left after two seasons to “explore a new opportunity”.

The 48-year-old started his playing career with his hometown club before joining Warrington where he made 425 appearances.

He moved on to the coaching staff at the Wire and has also had spells with Wigan Warriors, Australian side Brisbane Broncos and the England national team.

Former Wales international Briers has been linked with a move to new NRL side Perth Bears.
