Southern Miss basketball 2026-27 nonconference schedule, see list

Southern Miss basketball announced its nonconference schedule for the 2026 season on Sept. 29.

The Golden Eagles will open the regular season against Tougaloo at Reed Green Coliseum on Nov. 2.

Southern Miss‘ final nonconference game will take place against Ole Miss in the Coast Classic at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi on Dec. 22.

It will also compete in the Pensacola Regional on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 against Nicholls and Valparaiso, respectively. Those games will be played at Pensacola Bay Center in Florida.

“Our nonconference schedule is not designed for an easy road and isn’t littered with cupcakes,” coach Jay Ladner said in a school release. “It’s full of great challenges, it’s attractive, and it’s the ‘Southern Miss Way.’ ”

Before it begins its regular season, Southern Miss will play a pair of exhibition games. The first will be against LSU New Orleans at home on Oct. 21 and the second will be on the road against Houston Christian on Oct. 28.
