The Indiana Fever are back in action after more than a week off and Sophie Cunningham is wearing a “spicy” pregame outfit before the contest.
The Fever haven’t played since June 27, when they crushed the Los Angeles Sparks before the lengthy break for the conclusion of the Commissioner’s Cup.
Now, Cunningham and the Fever are back in action on Sunday night against the Las Vegas Aces, with the two squads squaring off for the first time this season.
Here’s what Cunningham was wearing before the contest in Vegas.
Sophie Cunningham goes viral again
Cunningham has been in the news lately for much more than her pregame fit.
The Fever guard went viral on June 22 after her 20-second-plus pointing standoff with Phoenix Mercury forward DeWanna Bonner.
The hilarious incident that enraged Bonner to no end created some awesome new memes, with Cunningham’s favorite being the Statue of Liberty version.
“Yeah, Statue of Liberty,” Cunningham said without hesitation. “Dude, that is my favorite one. I feel like we need to change that.”

Cunningham said “it’s fun to see,” but she couldn’t enjoy it much initially because she was dealing with an illness over the past week.
“It’s getting worldwide views now,” she said. “I didn’t even mean for it to blow up like that, but, you know, the internet does what it does.”
Cunningham was also asked about the White House using a clip of her on social media.
“I think everyone around the world is posting it,” Cunningham said. “Every company has done it, (the White House is) just the ones to also get on board and so I don’t really think twice about it. I think they’re just another group who is posting about it.”

Speaking of the aforementioned illness, Cunningham missed a pair of practices last week.
However, on Friday, Cunningham said she was feeling better and judging from the video she posted to TikTok, it looks like she’s now 100% and ready to go against the Aces.
The Fever won’t have the services of superstar guard Caitlin Clark, who is dealing with a back injury. Clark is slated to return to action for one of the back-to-back games on July 8 and 9.

The second of those back-to-back games will take place against the Mercury, the same team that sports Alyssa Thomas, who kneed Clark in the groin and put a fist in her throat in the June 24 meeting.
Thomas was suspended for the incident and Clark later said she agreed with the decision the WNBA made to rule it a flagrant foul after the fact.
Clark still voiced her displeasure with the referees and the league for failing to adequately protect its players.
