A Nebraska racer who was participating in the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron over the weekend was disqualified, according to Derby officials.
In a Facebook announcement, Derby officials said that following a post-race inspection, car 346 was disqualified from the Local Stock Challenge.
The racer, Dylan Auwerda, is a Soap Box Derby champion from Keystone, Nebraska. He most recently qualified for the 2026 All-Star Nominees and secured his spot at Derby Downs when he won the Wild West Soap Box Derby Local Championship in the Stock division. The commission had no further comment regarding the matter.
Officials adjusted results so that Lily Brand of Omaha, Nebraska, in car 340, took first place and Callie Ray in car 307 took second place.
Racing will continue through Saturday, July 18.
