So, Caleb Foster Has Had A Pretty Cool Summer

One of the many things that goes into building the modern juggernaut that is Duke Basketball is that members of the Brotherhood come home to mentor their successors.

If you’re a young player looking for a school and you see that, it must be pretty great.

That happened this summer for Caleb Foster, as he got to train with his former classmate Jared McCain, now with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Jayson Tatum, who is the star of the Boston Celtics.

Here’s what he had to say about playing Tatum:

“It was fun, man. Just thankful that I got to be around somebody [of] his caliber. Obviously he’s one of the best players in the NBA, and just to see his habits and the way he works and how [he approaches] the game. I learned a lot.”

Aside from the obvious, at some point, hopefully, Foster takes a few minutes to reflect on coming from Harrisburg, N.C., population 19,631, to play in Cameron, and to be able to spend his summers working with pros like McCain and Tatum.

What a wonderful ride he’s having.
