Sixers receive high grade for Labron Philon pick in the 2026 NBA draft

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Labaron Philon with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft on Tuesday. The dynamic guard from Alabama averaged 22.0 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 50.1% from the floor overall ad 39.9% from deep. He is continuing to add to his game and should be a great fit next to Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe in the backcourt.

The Sixers will now be looking to unlock even more of his game and help him become an even better and more complete player. Philon is somebody who can break down defenses and give Maxey and Edgecombe a break when considering the minutes that both played in the 2025-26 season.

Despite legitimate concerns about the Sixers’ perimeter size, Philon — at 6-foot-3 — should be able to play on or off the ball with either of the 76ers’ starters.

Given Maxey’s heavy workload and high usage rate last season, Philon’s ability to handle the ball and initiate the offense should come in handy.
