20 years. For 20 years, Kyle Lowry made so many big plays, big shots, helped others become better on the floor, and create some amazing moments while out on the floor, no matter what jersey he wore.
The Philadelphia native spent the final 2.5 seasons of his legendary career as a member of the 76ers and he did so many good things for the franchise. He helped Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe continue their development while also being a right-hand man to coach Nick Nurse as another coach on the floor.
Now, Lowry is going “home”. The Sixers guard will be honored on Tuesday by the Toronto Raptors for what was an amazing career and everything he did for that city and franchise. Lowry spent nine years with the Raptors, was named an All-Star six times, and led Toronto to its only championship in 2019.
In a heartfelt Instagram video, Lowry officially announced his retirement from the game of basketball while giving a shoutout to the city of Philadelphia while listing out his career.
