Jose Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid has been accompanied by excitement, expectation and the promise of significant change.

But if the latest reports are accurate, the Portuguese manager’s rebuild could prove even more dramatic than many supporters anticipated.

According to SPORT, Mourinho has already begun evaluating the squad he will inherit and has identified six players who do not fit into his plans for the upcoming project.

While none of their departures are guaranteed, the report suggests that Real Madrid are preparing for an important summer of decisions as the new manager seeks to reshape the squad in his image.

The most eye-catching inclusion is undoubtedly Rodrygo.

The Brazilian forward has been a key figure for Real Madrid in recent years and remains one of the club’s most recognisable attacking players. However, his future has become increasingly uncertain.

The 25-year-old remains sidelined through injury and is not expected to return before the latter stages of the year.

Eduardo Camavinga is another surprising name mentioned by the outlet. Once viewed as one of Europe’s most exciting midfield prospects, the French international has failed to convince after several seasons in Madrid.

Despite his undeniable talent and a contract running until 2029, questions are now being raised about whether he has truly developed into the player many expected.

Furthermore, Raul Asencio also finds himself facing uncertainty. The academy graduate impressed when called upon during an injury-hit campaign and earned a contract extension until 2031.

However, with Real Madrid continuing to pursue additional defensive reinforcements, competition for places could become increasingly fierce.

The list does not end there

Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos expects his role to diminish further under Mourinho and is already exploring options away from the club. Ajax have been linked, although the midfielder is believed to favour a return to Real Betis.

Fran Garcia‘s situation is equally delicate. Despite consistently performing whenever selected, he remains behind other options in the pecking order and could become available if the club receives a suitable offer.

Lastly, Franco Mastantuono‘s case is different altogether.

The Argentine teenager is still viewed as a long-term investment, but as reported before, the club would be open to a loan move that guarantees regular football and European competition.
