Should the Browns test the waters on trading for Gervon Dexter Sr.?

The Cleveland Browns‘ calling card in 2026 will be their defense.

They may have lost Myles Garrett via trade to the Los Angeles Rams, but this is still a formidable unit, including Jared Verse. The defensive line might be the best part of the defense for Cleveland in 2026, but is there a trade out there they could make to beef up that unit even more?

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Chicago Bears are shopping defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. ahead of the start of the 2026 season. The 24-year-old former second-round pick has quietly put together a very good start to his NFL career, but he could be moving on from Chicago in the coming weeks. Should the Browns go calling?

For the right price, both in terms of draft capital and future money via extension, he could make a very intriguing running mate next to Mason Graham. Maliek Collins is still a quality player, but at age 31, he could become expendable for a contending team. If Cleveland could get Dexter for a day-two pick, it is most certainly worth a conversation.
