Seahawks training camp, Day 10: Instant on-site takeaways from Wednesday practice
The Seattle Seahawks held their seventh of 10 public training camp practices on Wednesday. It was another warm (and, due to the wildfire smoke, hazy) day at team headquarters in Renton, and the VMAC berm was filled to capacity yet again for what was a non-padded practice for the reigning Super Bowl champions. While the pads may not have been there, there was still a lot to take in.
Field Gulls was on-site at VMAC observing what was just about a 2.5-hour long practice. Myself and fellow Field Gulls staff writer and host of The Hawks Eye podcast, Bryce Coutts, filmed a quick reaction video after practice ended (from outside The Pro Shop in Renton, we were in a hurry to get to SoDo!) with our immediate takeaways and analysis. Over a nice and tight five minutes, we discussed how well the defense performed, the Sam Darnold-Rashid Shaheed connection, an interesting name to watch at safety, Nehemiah Pritchett’s increased role with the starters, Rylie Mills’ versatility, and the work in progress that is a rebuilding running game.
(Update: We’ve swapped in the video to include auto-generated and therefore not totally accurate transcription, so this should be a help!)
Check out the video below, and don’t forget that at 7:30 pm PT we will be live from Fast Fashion Brewing in SoDo for more in-depth, fleshed out training camp analysis, with special guest Corbin Smith of Emerald City Spectrum joining the Seahawks Syndicate podcast! There will be a separate post coming up for tonight’s live stream.
