Seahawks Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III has dominating Chiefs debut

Kenneth Walker III wanted to prove he was a lead back when he left the Seattle Seahawks to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs in a huge free agent move. The Super Bowl MVP spent 2025 sharing lead back duties with Zach Charbonnet, but the Chiefs made it clear that Walker was going to be the guy for them on opening night against the Denver Broncos.

K9 answered the call in emphatic fashion.

On a night when Patrick Mahomes’ return from his ACL tear was the main Monday Night Football storyline, Walker stole the show and, quite frankly, was the show. Andy Reid spammed Walker early and often, and a normally stout Broncos defense did not have any answers. He was seeing holes, hitting them, breaking tackles, and showcasing his outstanding speed in the open field.

His first touchdown as a Chief was a 4th-and-1 handoff at his own 40. Walker was able to break past Riley Moss, and there was nothing but green grass for him to sprint all the way to the end zone.

Walker added another touchdown and finished with a career-high 173 rushing yards on 23 carries, plus 18 yards receiving. His previous best rushing total was 167 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers during his rookie season, and now he’s bested that total against the reigning AFC West champions. Kansas City cruised to a 31-10 win even with Mahomes and the passing game hardly looking sharp. The Chiefs wanted to run the ball and dropped 220 yards on Denver.

While I do not want Walker to do this to the Seahawks whatsoever, there are at least two and a maximum of three other NFC West teams I imagine Seahawks fans would greatly appreciate he wreak havoc against.
