Seattle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson has become a fantasy football waiver-wire option to have eyes on for Week 3 after earning increased attention following his big performance in the team’s Week 2 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano labeled Wilson as being one of the top running backs to add in fantasy football for the upcoming week.
“Jadarian Price injured; Wilson saw 21 carries and rushed for 92 yards, both team highs in Week 2,” Fabiano said.
Wilson’s 4.4 yards per carry were encouraging. He did not record any receiving stats, but his performance marked a significant change from Week 1, where he only recorded three rushing yards on two carries in a smaller role in Seattle’s offensive backfield. With more opportunities in Week 2, Wilson showed the ability to handle a heavier workload and provide steady production on the ground.
His value may rise further depending on the status of Jadarian Price, who got hurt in Week 2. Wilson stepped into a larger role after Price left the game and became Seattle’s most active rusher, giving the Seahawks an established option.
Wilson will be a strong player to add if Price misses time. His Week 2 workload suggests that he may lead the team in carries on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, while his quality production makes him a useful short-term fantasy option. Seattle’s next game will offer a new opportunity for Wilson to put forth another strong showing and help fantasy football team managers potentially pick up a crucial win on the year.
