Hoo boy. Hard to dress this one up. The first NFL game since the Seattle Seahawks loss to the Chicago Bears does involve a Super Bowl contender in the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are 5-2 and about as exciting an offense as you can get in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence looks like an MVP candidate, while an underrated defense features the likes of Travis Hunter, Travon Walker, and Josh Hines-Allen.
The Jaguars will be facing the Baltimore Ravens, who are 4-4 and won’t have Lamar Jackson any time soon due to a busted thumb. To make matters worse, Tyler Huntley has season-ending turf toe, which is why they’ve traded for Jacoby Brissett. However, since it’s Thursday and this trade won’t even process until the weekend, UConn’s Joey Fagnano (pronounced Fin-YAWN-oh) will go from the third-string QB to the starter on a short week.
Tough world for Jesse Minter as a first-year head coach.
