Scottie Pippen’s GOAT argument against LeBron James supported by ex-NBA star with a Michael Jordan fact
One former NBA player has shared an honest opinion on Scottie Pippen’s GOAT take.
Michael Jordan was undoubtedly the face of the Chicago Bulls during the franchise’s golden era, when they won six NBA Championships.
After all, it helped Jordan reach GOAT status in the eyes of the majority of the NBA community. No one challenged MJ’s GOAT status until LeBron James slowly started closing the gap.
Many ex-NBA players have spoken out against James’ case, and the list now features MJ’s Bulls teammate, Scottie Pippen.
Eddie Johnson’s Scottie Pippen take will make Michael Jordan fans angry
Pippen was Jordan’s second-in-command during the Bulls’ NBA title runs. Of course, he finished his career as a 6x NBA champion as well.
Speaking of which, Pippen recently claimed that his six rings put him above James in the GOAT debate.
On paper, Pippen has two more rings than James, but he was never a No. 1 option during any of the Bulls’ championships.
Upon seeing Pippen’s claim, Charles Barkley’s ex-teammate, Eddie Johnson, seemingly agreed with the Bulls legend’s take, but in a way that’ll make MJ fans angry.
“Why shouldn’t Scottie not claim he is the GOAT? He’s 6-0 too, and that seems to be the only fight left against LBJ. MJ fans are not happy today,” Johnson wrote on X.
Most Jordan fans use his six NBA Championships as a counter to any GOAT argument presented by LBJ fans.
Johnson used that to not only support Pippen claiming he’s better than James, but also to sarcastically take a dig at Jordan fans.
