Schefter: Kyler Murray Not Likely To Play Against Bears
Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback Kyler Murray will start Week 2 in the league’s concussion protocol, and according to at least one NFL insider, the initial indications for his availability for the team’s matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday are not positive.
Adam Schefter is pretty much ruling Kyler Murray out vs the Bears already.
He also reports that the Vikings are/were “not pleased” by the hit that knocked Kyler Murray out vs the Packers

On ESPN’s Get Up morning program on Monday, Adam Schefter reported that it appears unlikely that Murray will be able to suit up on Monday when the Vikings travel to Soldier Field to face their NFC North division rivals.
Murray went out midway through the first quarter of Sunday’s opener at U.S. Bank Stadium, as he left the pocket and was scrambling for extra yardage. He slid to the turf and was hammered by Javon Bullard, drawing a flag for unnecessary roughness. Murray was helped off the field and immediately went back to the Vikings’ locker room, where he was diagnosed with a concussion and ruled out for the game shortly thereafter.
If Murray is unable to go, it will be Carson Wentz taking the reins for the Minnesota offense. Wentz played efficiently enough after taking over for Murray, completing 12-of-19 passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns, but the Vikings will likely need significantly more out of him and the rest of the offense if they want to keep up with a Bears team that dropped 59 points in their regular season opener against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
We will be monitoring Kyler Murray’s situation as the week continues, but the early indications are that things are not looking positive for QB1 to be leading the Vikings offense into Chicago on Sunday.
