SAZU update on campus security following attack on a 200-level student

The Management of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) has issued an official statement addressing the recent attack on a 200-level Biology Education student, Maryam Yakeem.

Contrary to reports circulating on various online media platforms, the University clarified that the attack—carried out by suspected phone snatchers—took place outside the university environment. The Management categorically stated that claims suggesting the incident occurred within the university premises are false and misleading.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir, reaffirmed that the institution continues to prioritize the security of students and staff across all three campuses. She noted that through sustained collaboration with internal security and external agencies, there have been no reported cases of insecurity within the campus borders.
