The thunder/25/" target="_blank">Oklahoma City Thunder have one more event to cross off their list before officially closing the book on the 2025-26 season. Sam Presti will conduct his end-of-season press conference on Monday, June 8 at 10 a.m. CT.

Presti will talk roughly a week after the Thunder suffered a season-ending Game 7 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 Western Conference Finals. They finished five wins shy of completing their back-to-back NBA championship ambitions.

At the end of their current roster life cycle, expect the Thunder to see some change throughout their roster. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams are the franchise pillars, but the surrounding cast could see a change of characters.

The Thunder had an NBA-best 64-18 regular-season record. Gilgeous-Alexander won back-to-back MVP awards. But constant injuries finally caught up to them. They were without Williams and Ajay Mitchell for most of their epic series against the Spurs. They eventually succumbed to their absences with a brutal Game 7 loss.

It’s going to be interesting to hear what Presti has to say about their 2025-26 season. While it was a successful year in several regards, not being able to win another NBA championship with a group that was favored to win it all year brings up mixed feelings.

Presti wrapped up his 19th season as OKC’s GM. He’s been in the position since 2007. As one of the longest-tenured general managers, the Thunder have been spoiled by success by all metrics. Right now, they’re amid a championship window with a chance to add a couple of more Larry O’Brien trophies with this group.
