The entirety of PNC Park was on their feet. Ryan O’Hearn came to the plate with a chance to become the first player in Pittsburgh Pirates history to slug four home runs in one game.
The Atlanta Braves even had a position player, Jorge Mateo, on the mound as the Pirates were up big.
O’Hearn had to settle for a hard-hit single.
The Pirates then pinch-ran for O’Hearn to get him a standing ovation as he came off the field.
Still, it was a historic, epic night for O’Hearn.
