Lazio have received an enticing bid from Dynamo Moscow, who are keen to sign Petar Ratkov before the end of the summer.
Petar Ratkov Has Yet to Leave His Mark at Lazio
The Serbian striker joined the Biancocelesti in January on a €13 million deal from RB Salzburg following Taty Castellanos’ move to West Ham United. However, the 22-year-old struggled to adapt to his new surroundings and found himself at the bottom of Maurizio Sarri’s pecking order. He ended the season without making a single goal contribution.
At the start of the summer, the Lazio hierarchy urged Gennaro Gattuso to make the most out of the big centre-forward, and the two men’s collaboration has thus far shown some promising signs, with Ratkov scoring six goals in the team’s five pre-season friendlies, albeit against lower-tier opposition. But despite the striker’s summer exploits, his future remains to be defined.
Dynamo Moscow Bid €15m for Ratkov
On Thursday evening, La Lazio Siamo Noi revealed that Dynamo Moscow want Ratkov, and have presented Lazio with an offer that exceeds €15 million. This report was later confirmed by several other reliable sources, including Italian journalists Gianluca Di Marzio, Alfredo Pedulla, and Damiano Er Faina.
While the young bomber would prefer to remain in Rome and try to prove his worth for the cause, the two clubs are apparently negotiating a deal. Lazio could be tempted to sell, as the proposed figure would generate a swift windfall.
Who Would Replace Ratkov at Lazio?
The sources agree that the Italian capital club would like to secure a replacement before sanctioning the deal. Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti and Benfica’s Franjo Ivanovic are now considered the most viable options, as signing Santiago Gimenez from AC Milan remains a complicated affair.
