The Indianapolis Colts are holding a fire sale after axing general manager Chris Ballard. There is growing speculation over Jonathan Taylor being traded.
After trading away their 2026 and 2027 first round picks to acquire Sauce Gardner, the Indianapolis Colts could make a move to boost their draft capital in exchange for Jonathan Taylor.
Taylor is one of the NFL’s top running backs, however, he is being wasted on a terrible Colts team who already look to have given up on the season.
There is speculation that Taylor could be traded away before the November 10 NFL trade deadline.
Former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl winner Russell Wilson has given his view on Taylor’s future, and believes his old team the Denver Broncos should be making a move.
Wilson says that a move to Denver could secure Taylor his first Super Bowl ring.
He told CBS: “If I’m JT’s agent, I’m thinking about the Denver Broncos. The Denver Broncos need a running back. They need somebody to help out Bo Nix. They need that downhill running game that Sean Payton likes.”
Wilson acknowledged that the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings could also be attractive to Taylor, but believes the Broncos are the top option.
“If I’m JT, I’m going to the team that I think can win the Super Bowl, and I think the Denver Broncos, of all the teams, have all the pieces of the defense, the offense, the head coach, the whole thing, and they got the fan base.”
Colts not actively shopping Taylor
Despite the uncertainty over Jonathan Taylor, the Colts are not actively trying to trade their star running back, according to reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala.
She told CBS: “I have been assured by the Colts that they are not soliciting offers for the running back and that they are not actively seeking to move him.”
Taylor was active for the Colts in their AFC South battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it was a blowout loss for Indianapolis.
