Danilo says “Cristiano Ronaldo lives for football” as he continuously tries to improve every day.

The Brazilian defender shared a dressing room with Ronaldo at both Real Madrid and Juventus, playing alongside him for four years altogether.

They won back-to-back Champions League titles together at Madrid before claiming the Serie A and Coppa Italia trophies at Juventus.

Ronaldo, still going strong at 41 as he prepares for a record-breaking sixth World Cup, has enjoyed a glittering career, scoring 973 goals – he is chasing down the 1,000 goal-mark.

And Danilo puts Ronaldo’s success down to his stellar work rate as he continues to push boundaries.

“I’d played with him at Madrid. In Turin, he was more experienced but still scoring a lot of goals, still professional all the time,” Danilo told The Athletic, as quoted by Marca.

“He pushed you, made you perform at your best in training, in games.

“People think Cristiano is like an extraterrestrial, but he was a normal guy who would laugh and have a good time with his family.
