Rome Odunze says Jahdae Walker is standout in Bears training camp

The Chicago Bears wide receiver room is one of the most intriguing position groups on the roster going into the 2026 season, with plenty of opportunity available for younger players.

Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III will be tasked with leading the receiver room this season, after several veterans including DJ Moore, departed in the offseason. That could open the door for other young names, such as second-year pro Jahdae Walker to step up.

During an interview with Kay Adams at training camp last week, Odunze named Walker as one of the breakout stars of camp early on. And with injuries to Burden and rookie Zavion Thomas, Walker is seeing extended opportunities.

“I think Jahdae is doing a great job,” Odunze said. “Jahdae Walker obviously had some flashes last season. Kalif Raymond as well, and I’m shouting out my wide receivers but I really think everybody is putting it all together.”

It’ll be an interesting battle to monitor between Walker and Thomas, who is day-to-day with a knee injury. No matter who comes out in that battle for the fourth wide receiver spot, there’s also the possibility that both players get an opportunity to showcase themselves in the unique and high-powered offense that head coach Ben Johnson is looking to run this year.
